MINOR PAINT CORRECTION
£380+ (3-4 days)
The Minor paint correction involves a two-stage machine polish. This uses an abrasive compound, combined with a microfiber cutting pad, to remove fine and medium defects within the paint. Defects including swirl marks, fine scratches and oxidisation. Once the cutting stage is complete, and the defects have been removed, the paint work is then given a machine polish for refining. Once this stage is done the paintwork becomes very glossy and starts to look brand new. Minor paint correction will remove around 80% of the defects in the paintwork. To remove the further 20% of defects major paint correction is required, which involves 3-4 stages of machine polishing.

The process involved in the services above:

The washing stage:

-
Wheels and brake calipers thoroughly cleaned using a safe wheel cleaner
-
Any iron fallout and tar embedded in the wheels is removed for a completely clean wheel
-
Wheel arches cleaned
-
Vehicle paint work is given a citrus and snowfoam pre-wash to soften and remove surface contamination
-
Two bucket wash method used on the paintwork after a thorough rinse, using quality shampoo and wash mitt
-
Badges, grilles and any other tight areas are cleaned using detailing brushes

Decontamination:

-
Iron fallout is liberally sprayed onto the vehicle to remove iron fallout and any other ferrous contaminants
-
Tar is also removed from the paintwork
-
Vehicle is given a further snow foam and thorough rinse to remove the decontamination
-
Even after these steps, decontamination is embedded into the paint, the paintwork, glass and lights are given a clay bar
-
Vehicle rinsed and dried off
-
Crevices that may still have water held are given are blown dry, this avoids left over water dripping onto the paint

Machine polishing:

-
Fragile areas, plastics and rubbers are taped off to avoid these areas coming into contact with polish
-
Paint work has a thorough going over using a paint depth gauge, to ensure a safe paint correction can be performed
-
Combinations of polish/compound and pads are tested to find the best combination for the paint work
-
The machine polishing stages are performed (1,2,3,4 stage)
-
Paint work is given Ispropyl alcohol wipe downs to see the results of the machine polishing stages
-
Machine polishing and IPA wipe downs are done until the desire
-
Once all the machine polishing stage(s) are complete, a final IPA wipe down is done to remove any left over residue, this step is required if further steps are added, e.g. paint protection (wax, sealant, ceramic coating)

For an even higher level of protection, paint wax or sealant can also be applied by hand. This step uses microfiber applicators, the product is then left for some cure time (depending on product used), then it's simply wiped off. This will help to achieve a higher level of gloss, whilst adding more protection. Adding this step will also allow for easier maintenance washes. This step can be added for an extra £20-£30. It is highly recommended, after polishing a vehicle, to have some form of protection applied to the paintwork, for added gloss and a greater level of protection against the elements.

Waxes and sealants can range from 3 months of protection all the way up to a year, depending on product used.
Maintenance washes and protection top ups are highly recommended to keep the vehicle fresh, glossy and protected.

Ceramic coatings are also offered, ceramic coating being a high end form of protection.
